Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg

GerMUN is a Germany-wide simulation of the United Nations. Our university, the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich and the University of Trier have taken turns in organizing this event for more than 20 years. Apart from these three universities, there is various other universities and projects groups taking part in GerMUN. Furthermore, delegates of the Otto-von-Guericke University work in a range of committees (e.g. the General Assembly, the Security Council and the Human Rights Council) in order to write resolutions or reports emulating the real delegates of the United Nations.

At GerMUN…

we simulate the UN for one weekend

over 100 students from all over Germany will meet, to take part in one of Germany’s biggest simulations of the UN

participants will need their negotiation skills and be able to speak in front of a bigger audience

our delegates will discover the advantages and disadvantages of big assemblies

you will have the opportunity to have diplomatic talks even outside of the official meetings

you will be able to meet new people also interested in MUN

Many participants use GerMUN as a preparation for the international NMUN simulation in New York.
